Bob joined our staff in January 2023 and is quickly becoming a very important member!
I was born out on the Six Nations Reserve at Lady Willingdon Hospital. My father
was an Xray and lab technician. I spent my first 14 years out there and finally
moved to Brantford in 1964. When I was 18 I joined the Royal Canadian Navy. I
served on HMCS Sceena for 2 years and then left it for civilian life and came ack
to Brantford. I went back to school. After that I went to work at Massey Ferguson
Brantford for 16.5 years. While at Masseys in 1983 Peggy and I got married. We
went out west when Masseys closed for a year and a half. When we came back I
got into the Rent To Own business. From there I went into trucking until I retired in
2015. Since retirement I have been driving a school bus five days a week.
Peggy had gone to Sydenham Church as a child and a friend was a member of
Sydenham-Heritage United Church. We started coming to Sydenham-Heritage,
felt comfortable and happy and became members. We have two sons, Tom and
Benjamin.
Since coming to Sydenham-Heritage I have become a member of the Fix-It Crew.
On January 1 I became the church custodian. My son Don and I are preparing the
men’s breakfast monthly.
Peggy and I feel very welcomed into the Sydenham-Heritage Church family.
