“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” Proverbs 27:17

Book Club

This is a group in our congregation who share a love of reading. We meet monthly, usually on the third Wednesday in the evening. We take turns hosting the meetings in our homes, however, we could meet at the church if a room is available and reserved in advance through the church office.

Each month we discuss a book that we have all read and receive a copy of the next month’s book. The books we read are available through the Brantford Public Library’s ‘Book-Club-in-a-Bag’ program. Through this program, we receive 10 copies of the same book and we share them as necessary. For more information about this program you can go to the Brantford Public Library’s website. For more information about the Sydenham-Heritage Book Club, or if you are interested in joining us, please contact the church office.

Mixed Games

Our group is a congenial mixture of Sydenham and community members as far away as Lynden. It meets each Monday at 1:30 to 3:30pm and the group may play euchre, bridge or shuffleboard depending on the numbers each day. The cost is $1.00 to play and 50 cents if you wish to partake of the lovely lunches.

Breakfast Club

The aim of the Breakfast Club is to provide an opportunity for members of the church to meet one another in fellowship and service. The purpose of the Breakfast Club is to be a viable entity within the church as a strong support group both in financial and spiritual needs as worship. We meet the first Saturday of each month at 8:30am at the church. We give leadership and support for dinners at the church as fundraisers.

Friday Lunch Bunch

What began as a women’s monthly lunch gathering has evolved into lunch for anyone interested. Please join use for an informal buffet on the last Friday of each month at the Best Western on Holiday Drive at 11:45. All are welcome.

The purpose of the UCW is to unite the women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 7 pm in the Fellowship Room to discuss the business of the unit. There is always a meaningful worship service and fellowship over a tea or coffee and a snack. All women are welcome.

Property Commission and Tuesday Fix-it Club

The Commission maintains the church building inside and outside grounds, and assists with setting fee schedules for the various rooms within the Church building along with Ministry & Personnel Commission.

Under the Property umbrella is the Tuesday Fix-it Club, which undertakes the majority of the minor day to day maintenance and repairs of the Church Building and the grounds. The group meets each Tuesday at 9 and anyone is welcome.

Informal Discussion Group

Regular meetings to discuss the sermon and service are held Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m in the Fellowship room. Come broaden your horizons.

all are welcome in this place!
