Sign wars in Brantford
Do you have a great idea for our church sign for sign wars? Someone please come up with something better than Rev. Paul’s which is: “This church is not full of hypocrites. We have room for lots more. Join us Sundays online at 10:30.”

Covenanting Services
It is a requirement of the Region that a Covenant be made between the Community of Faith and the New Minister.

Rev. Dr. Paul Shepherd has been with the Sydenham-Heritage Community of Faith since February 2020 and due to these unprecedented times, a Covenant Service has not yet been held. Neither was there a Covenant between Sydenham-Heritage (SHUC) and the Region.

Sunday, June 13th at 1:00 pm a Covenanting Service will be held to commemorate these two events.

This will be livestreamed via Zoom.  Guest: Rev. Randy MacKenzie

We trust that you will join in on this very joyful and meaningful service. Watch for updates!

Thank you from the Faith Profile Committee for participating in the first questionnaire mail out and subsequent call outs. The
response from our church family was awesome. Thank you to all who participated and shared your thoughts, ideas, suggestions
and comments.
The 2nd of 3 questionnaires has been sent out.
The Faith Profile Committee is looking forward to sharing the results of these questionnaires and will let you know when they will be posted on the United Church Hub and our own website.
Thank you for your support
We are the church together!

ANNUAL REPORTS
The 2020 Annual Reports are ready, however, due to COVID, the Annual Report is posted on our website. We will be printing a limited number of paper copies and if you wish one to be mailed/delivered to you, please either phone or email the office.

DONATIONS, Memorials and OFFERINGS

While we are unable to attend weekly Church services, please remember your weekly givings/offerings are still very important to the work of the church and the maintenance of the church building.

We would like to take a minute to remind you that now would be a good time to sign up for Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) where your givings could be deducted from your bank account monthly and direct paid to the church’s bank account – if you’re interested in this method of contributing, call the office to make arrangements.

Also, you can drop off your memorial donations/envelopes/cheques/cash givings at the church office any morning during the week, just call ahead to ensure you have access (and remember we have a mail slot in the Dundas Street Door access).

Another method is to send us an E-Transfer with online banking. If this is new to you, just follow these steps:
1) You need to be set up for On-line banking.
2) After signing in to your On-Line banking account, the menu (normally on left side) should have an option for E-Transfer – click on it.
3) You will need to add contact (Sydenham-Heritage U.C.) and method of contact (church email address sydenham.heritage@gmail.com).
4) Select the account you wish money to be taken from as well as the amount and insert in appropriate boxes.
5) Message is optional (can indicate where you want money to go e.g. General Funds, Benevolent fund, etc.).
6) Then you need to select a question from list or make up your own (e.g. “what is this for”) and then insert answer with no spaces in appropriate box.
7) Click Send.
8) Final but very important step is to send an email attention:  Treasurer (sydenham.heritage@gmail.com) with the answer.

You also have a another method to donate to the church.  Sydenham-Heritage United Church is now registered with CanadaHelps.org which is an on-line donation platform that will allow you to donate to any Canadian registered charity.  Keep in mind that when you donate through this platform, your tax receipt will be from Canada Helps and that donation will not appear on your Sydenham-Heritage tax receipt, but your donation does go to the Church’s general account.

Click on the Donate through Canada Helps link below and you will be re-directed to their donation form.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

What is a healing circle?
Accepting and expressing our deepest feelings are important steps in the journey towards healing and wholeness. A healing circle is a safe place to do just that.
Why healing circles for forgiveness?
Bad things happen to everyone. Our wholeness and happiness depend on our ability to forgive others and to receive forgiveness. Hardest of all can be to forgive ourselves.
If you struggle with offering – or receiving – forgiveness these healing circles are for you. In particular, if you struggle to forgive yourself you should feel free to come.
We will have 2 circles – please NOTE DATE CHANGE to Tuesdays, July 20, 27, and Aug 3. Choose either: In person (fellowship room) @ 2 pm if COVID restrictions permit (please register/confirm with Rev. Paul or the office in advance) or online @ 7 pm.

Music Director would like to hear from you….
If you would like to request a piece of music, please email the church sydenham.heritage@gmail.com or call the office (519-753-1248) and leave your request for Trevor.
